What is music therapy?

Music therapy is a clinically informed and evidence-based practice, that uses music based experiences and interventions to foster enhanced emotional, cognitive, social, and physical well-being, tailored to the unique needs and goals of each individual.

Music therapy can be delivered across the lifespan to support improved functional, cognitive, emotional, and social outcomes, tailored to each individual's goals, unique needs and lived experiences. This may include:

Infants, children, and adolescents with developmental delays
Individuals with profound and complex disabilities
Adults with progressive illnesses including dementia
Individuals with intellectual or neurodevelopmental disabilities
Adults with neurological conditions or acquired brains injuries
People undergoing medical rehabilitation

What do we do?

We provide music therapy designed to support improved functional outcomes, well-being, and quality of life. Sessions are individually designed and tailored to support each person’s goals through structured and meaningful musical engagement.

We currently offer music therapy to children, young people, adults and older adults to provide support with the following:

Developmental delay

Intellectual and physical disabilities

Profound and multiple disabilities

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

Autism

Acquired brain injury

Progressive and neurological conditions, including dementia and Huntington’s disease

Palliative care

Our approach is tailored to each person’s unique strengths, goals, and needs, using music as the tool to work towards non-music based goals.
